AW Lips | MAC Currant & NYX Transylvania

September 22, 2015

I'm a big fan of dark shades during Autumn and Winter, usually opting for dark reds and purples. This year is obviously no exception. This year, however I decided to step out of my comfort zone and I went for these really dark plum shades which kind of scares me, I'm not going to lie. I don't know if I will be able to pull this look off but if there's a time to do it it's definitely Autumn.

The MAC lip liner in Currant is a dark red shade which is easily applied thanks to its soft, creamy formula. Although the formula is soft, the staying power is fantastic throughout the day. MAC lip liners also don't 'bleed' which is something that I absolutely HATE (it's so embarrassing and the 'post spaghetti dinner' look is not attractive!).

The NYX soft matte lip cream in Transylvania is a very dark purple, almost black shade which is so not something I would usually go for but the promise of 'soft matte lips' forced me to buy this. The shade is absolutely gorgeous and the formula does dry to matte however you really would want to exfoliate your lips before applying this lip cream and the product catches in all the wrong places and can leave your lips looking really dry and unhealthy. Like the MAC lip liner the staying power of this is also great because it dries on your lips.

I think that these two products are a match made in heaven and if you're looking out for a perfect AW shade then definitely consider these two!
